Rocxanne Deschamps is the family friend who took Lynda Cruz’ adopted sons Zachary and Nikolas Cruz after Lynda died from pneumonia on November 1, 2017. Ms. Deschamps told Nikolas she was more than happy to have him and his young brother in her house, but there was no way she was letting him keep his guns inside her mobile home in Lantana.
“He bought a gun and wanted to bring it into my house. Violence and gun not accepted in my house!” Rocxanne Deschamps said publicly in comments that have since been removed from her Facebook page.
Nikolas moved out of Rocxanne’s home and stayed at James and Kimberly Snead’s home, Zachary who will turn 18, next week and showed a completely different behavior from the trouble one his older brother showed.
Even so, after Nikolas killed 17 people at his former high school and hurt 15 other, Zachary was involuntarily admitted to a psychiatric facility.
No money from Cruz
According to recent reports, Zachary and Nikolas adopted by Roger and Lynda Cruz at birth were ages 2-year-old and 2-month-old at the time, they had the same mother, but different father.
According to sources close to Mrs. Deschamps, a single mother of two longtime friends of Lynda Cruz named Nikolas and Zachary’s guardian( although there is no paperwork to confirm that) never received any money from Lynda Cruz.
“Rocxanne never received anything from the Cruz family, everything has been out of her pocket; she tried to do the right thing and it backfired.”
The same sources added that Rocxanne is obviously distressed about Nikolas’ horrible crime.
“She is stressed of course. She’s known this child for a long time. He’s like her nephew.”
42-year-old Rocxanne an employee at a company that employs yacht crew, filed a petition Thursday to administer Lynda Cruz’s estate. Ms. Deschamps shares custody of her two sons with her ex-fiancee Paul Gold.
Rocxanne met Lynda Cruz and her two sons when they live next to her in Parkland, Florida.
